Description
An impressive, fruit vase from the Finnish master of Faberge Victor Aarne. Vyborg. 1923 It is a thin glass bowl, in anticipation of Art Deco and national laconic design, hoisted on a silver stem formed by: a butler boy on a bell-shaped base. A half-naked hero with a pretty face and bunches of grapes in his hair, carries a heavy crater-vase. It rests on a convex navel of the earth, crowning the base on four legs. They are formed by a typical Faberge technique - the currencies of a triumphant laurel. In general, the work gives an idea of the search for the Faberge masters, interrupted by the revolution. It is built on the harmony of realistic classicism and the novelty of all-capturing modernism. Victor Aarne. Vyborg hallmarks of silver 813. 1923. Height: 38 cm. Diameter: 34 cm.
