BIOGRAPHY:
Seattle-based Kari-Lise Alexander is an artist whose works are found rooted within exploring nature. Using pencils, paints and pastels, she creates art that shrouds the viewer into a combination of fauna and flora giving a personal involvement into her art. Kari-lise Alexanders works are featured in the URBAN NATION 2018 exhibition, ‘UN-DERSTAND The Power of Art as a Social Architect’.Her only formal education coming from her short duration at college in the year 2000, where she studied fine art for two semesters, she then returned to art in the spring of 2009 and has been growing stronger ever since. Combining her love for the natural world, Kari-Lise focuses upon the feminine form as she creates realistic art pieces with a dreamlike belief that echoes a hidden soliloquy. This is then switched around for the audiences to immerse them in the same daydream. Kari-Lise Alexander’s communicative work discovers concepts rooted in her Scandinavian background, ‘Innocent maidens float in worlds of their own making, oftentimes losing themselves in their daydreams’.
