A set of five silver tablespoons, Thomas Shields (1743-1819), Philadelphia, PA, and other, circa 1780-1790

Comprising four spoons by Thomas Shields and one by maker “I.VN," each with bright-cut decoration and drops at bowl backs, engraved with monogram, “JSMG,” with later engraved monograms and date to underside of handle, “MGB to JA and LVG 1885," marked.

L: 9 ½ in., Total weight: 8.875 oz. t.
