Description
Naturalistic carved jade in the shape of a sheep laying on it's legs in relaxed position, the head is facing the right shoulder, with two ewes climbing up from the hip and relaxing above, another laying beside. Well presented upon a carved hardwood stand. The Jade shows moist milky appearance with even tone creme-celadon iridescent. The sheep, ram or goat (yang) is one of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac. The sheep (yang) has the same pronunciation and therefore symbolizes the male principle yang in Yin Yang and also the "sun" (yang).
