These Important Paintings collection all originated from one prominent collector, spanning from Lot-95 to Lot-160 (Day 1), continuing from Lot-402 to Lot-456 (Day 2).
LOT NOTES:
Jiang Hanting (1904 - 1963), formerly known as Di , also known as Hanting Jushi , also known as Gengyuan , Shixi , Shangyu and Handing , was a Chinese painter . A native of Yushan Town, Changshu, Jiangsu Province . He once taught at Shanghai Fine Arts College . At the age of 16, he learned flower and bird painting from fellow villager Tao Songxi , and at the age of 28, he started selling paintings to make a living. In his middle age, he lived in Shanghai and taught at Shanghai Fine Arts College. In 1960, he was among the first batch of painters at the Shanghai Chinese Painting Academy. Because he looked at the famous works of the Song and Yuan Dynasties, he realized their cautiousness and indulgence. He was good at double hooks and painting, and boneless sketching, especially depicting various birds. He also keeps many birds and animals at home for sketching purposes.
