FABERGE - RUSSIAN GOLD LETTER OPENER, BOOKMARK with DIAMONDs and RUBY STONES, from SOTHEBY's
Antique late 19th-century Russian gold letter opener and bookmark by the House of Faberge. The bookmark features an openwork scrollwork design and is encrusted with a ruby stone and diamonds. HALLMARKS: '56' gold standard and makers mark 'ES' for Edward Wilhelm Schramm (1850-1899) - FABERGE workmaster in St. Petersburg.

HISTORY of SALES: A few years ago, letter openers, bookmarks made by FABERGE workmasters were sold on Live Auctioneers, Christie's and Sotheby's for $16,730 (10 years ago), $20,625 (11 years ago), $21,250 (16 years ago), and $31,250 (10 years ago) - please refer to the screenshots for details. Today, prices have significantly increased compared to those of 5-10 years ago. The items made by Edward Wilhelm Schramm are very rare and expensive - please see next four screenshots of sold items for $27,800 (8 years ago), $44,400 (16 years ago), $45,410 (22 years ago), and $81,250 (11 years ago).
WARRANTY: The buyer has 5 days to inspect items for originality, valued at up to $5,000, and 10 days for items valued at $5,000 or more. Items can be returned to the seller for a refund; please refer to the Terms for more details.

Edward SCHRAMM: Faberge workmaster. 'ES' for Schramm Edward Wilhelm, born in St. Petersburg in 1839 in the family of watchmaker Christian Schramm. The jeweler, goldsmith, had his own workshop, carried out orders from Faberge and other large jewelry houses. The master had a brand with the image of his initials 'ES'. Specialized in the production of small items made of gold, tokens, jewelry, golden cigarette cases.
