Next to the journal 'Ver Sacrum' ('Sacred Spring'), 'Die Flache' is one of the most beautiful collections of designs by the artists of the 'Wiener Werkstatte', and the Viennese artist active during the turn of the century, such as Max Benirschke, Johanna Hollmann, Moritz Jung, Gustav Klimt, Minka Podhajska, Rosa Wachsmann, Franz von Zulow and many others.
'Die Flache' (literally, 'The surface'), produced in portfolio form, was formulated as a 'Musterbuch,' or pattern book, of graphic insignia and poster designs, including posters, book designs (including dust jackets and endpapers), advertisements, wallpapers, textiles and many more.

Condition: In good condition, with soft handling creases at the edges. Some minor stains in the margins and one light fold on the bottom right corner. Image very clean otherwise.
