(Disneyland, 1990s) A one-of-a-kind model of the exterior of the Alice in Wonderland ride in Fantasyland. This model appears to be inspired by Claude Coates’ 1957 model of the attraction exterior but adapted to the 1984 version with the cars returning inside on ground level. The scale model is faithful to the attraction and accomplished in mixed media including wood, foam core, and faux foliage. The model features 9 caterpillar vehicles, 14 Wonderland giant leaves and 29 figures of people, all hand-painted. While this is not an Imagineering original model, it was obtained from the family of an Imagineer and shows superb accuracy and attention to detail. Measuring 48” x 86” x 27” tall fully assembled, this loyal replica of the historic Disneyland attractions is in very good condition, with expected wear to materials from handling and age.
