Oil on canvas. Attributed to Fernando Botero (1932 - 2023). The artwork depicts an assortment of fruits arranged on a table. A large bowl filled with bananas, apples, and other fruits occupies the center of the composition. Two oranges, suspended from strings above the table, add depth to the scene. A watermelon slice rests beside the bowl, revealing its juicy red interior dotted with black seeds. The backdrop consists of draped fabric, creating soft folds that contrast with the solid forms of fruit. Signed Botero on bottom right corner. Dated 1982 on verso. Labels on verso of Ministerio de Cultura Colombia. 91 x 90 cm (35 3/4" x 35 1/2"). Fernando Botero is a renowned Colombian figurative artist, exemplifies his signature style known as “Boterismo”.
