*Webley & Scott Boxlock 12 Gauge SxS Shotgun Retail Marked by Harrington & Richardson

12 gauge. 30" barrels with matted rib choked full and full. 14.6875" length of pull, a 1.375" drop at comb and a 2.25" drop at the heel. 2.75" chambers. SN: 140433. Blued finish with color casehardened frame, checkered forend, checkered straight grip buttstock with checkered wood butt. Double barreled box lock shotgun with automatic ejectors, sliding wrist mounted safety, and double triggers. Barrels engraved MADE BY WEBLEY & SCOTT ENGLAND on the right one and MADE FOR HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON INC. U.S.A. on the left one. Bottom of barrels and water table with the usual assortment of Birmingham commercial proof and inspection marks, noting the bores as being .729" and the chambers at 2 3/4". Matching serial numbers are found on the triggerguard tang, barrel lug and water table. Lightly engraved box locks are marked WEBLEY & SCOTT. Frame with light floral engraving around the pins and screws as well, and on the triggerguard. Toe line with an oval German silver escutcheon that is not marked.

Condition
Fine. Bores fine and bright with some old residue that should mop out. Barrels with nearly all of the blued finish, showing some minor thinning and toning. Markings clear and crisp, as is engraving. Case colors vivid with only the most minimal fading. Triggers and triggerguard with some freckles of minor surface rust. Mechanically fine, with tight lock up and a top lever that sits slightly to the right of center. Wood with crisp checkering and some scattered minor bumps, dings and mars.
