Description
Here is bust of the famous Indian Chief Sitting Bull. Sitting Bull was a Hunkpapa Lakota Sioux holy man who led his people as a war chief during years of resistance to United States government policies. Sitting Bull was born near the Grand River in what is now South Dakota. He led a charge and struck before the enemy Crow party could, resulting in his people being unharmed. Here he is shown looking proud and respectful off into the distance. He wears a necklace around his neck, which looks like the teeth or claws of an animal. He has braided hair that falls to his back and to his shoulders. In his braids he has very beautifully detailed feathers. The bust is on a pedestal which has draping wreaths on the sides. His facial features are remarkable and add to this sculpture ability to take your breath away. This charming piece has a gorgeous two tone brown patina with green and it was cast using the Lost Wax Method and mounted on a marble base. Dimensions: Height 38 X Width 24 inches. Weight: 60 LBS.
