Native American, Southwestern United States, Apache, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A gorgeous antique basketry bowl hand coiled to the left using rods made from natural fibers such as willow or cottonwood, and splints likely made from the same materials and/or yucca and devil's claw. The motifs are fine linear and geometric patterns done in tight coils that make for a very sturdy form! This is a nice older Apache example that probably pre-dates the Great Depression (1930s) era!
