Description
Native American, Southwestern United States, Acoma Pueblo, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A handmade ceramic wedding vase by an unknown artist, the base is marked "ACOMA NM." The terracotta surface is slip covered in a creamy white pigment and painted with black and orange hues of abstract geometric motifs. The double spouts represent the bride and groom, and the unity of marriage with the handle - the interlaced coils symbolizing this now interwoven bond. Size: 5" Diameter x 8.25" H (12.7 cm x 21 cm)
