Description
This is a nice polychrome painted Cheyenne Dance Drum from the early-to-mid 1900?s. The drum has a wood frame with thick parfleche Buffalo / Bison hide. The drum has old faded painted symbols of a half-moon and five-point stars on the front in colors of yellow, green, red, and black. An original carrying strap is still attached to the back. It is noted by the collector as being circa 1900 but could be later due to the wood plank insert, stull a nice piece. From a private Indiana Native American artifacts collection. The drum measures 15 ? inches across by 2 inches wide.
