Diamond Medal oversized flattop fountain pen in Mahogany celluloid. Diamond Medal was part of Sears, Roebuck and Company and offered several different brands under their company. These Diamond Medals were one of their highest-grade pens with large 14K nibs. They offered to engrave your pen free of charge with your name, thus many of these pens are engraved. For this particular model they also offered decorative disks inserted on the top of the cap with 8 emblems to choose from or a letter of your choosing, this example has a C in blue enamel on the gold disk. This Mahogany celluloid pen mimics hard rubber, the gold filled trim shows some brassing with heavier brassing to the clip ball and cap band, large 14K Warranted 8 gold extra fine nib (tip slightly out of alignment). Length 5 7/16” and 6 3/4” posted, filling mechanism lever fill. Overall fair to good condition, bright celluloid but wear to trim, cap band loose. Pen was water tested and filled at time of listing.
