Alexei Nikanorovich Komarov was a Russian artist known for his paintings, sculpture, and illustrations. Trained under the Empire, he remained in the Soviet Union after 1917, and illustrated numerous works, including books for children and scientific treatises. Komarov also later made many propaganda posters for the USSR. He was awarded the titles of Honored Art Worker of RSFSR in 1947 and People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1972.
