Description
Antique early 19th century pewter metal bellied measure jug used in taverns and inns as a measure and to pour wine, mead, cider or ale. Signed ~ stamped on the lip area although somewhat worn off is the George The Fourth excise stamp mark. Also stamped WR SM. To the right is a mark with the word L Peri ? in a saw tooth rectangle. Underneath bottom is a fine mark : A crown having the date year 1826 and the letter GSR.
Dimensions: 3.75 X 3.25 X 3.25 in.
