Native American, Southwestern United States, Arizona, Chaco Canyon type, ca. 1150 to 1250 CE. A tall, white-ground pitcher of elegant form with an apple-shaped body, a gently corseted neck, and a strap handle behind. Elaborate black-painted motifs presented across the exterior include bands of serrations, pairs of triangles, and columns of stripe-filled diamonds. Anasazi pottery was an invaluable utilitarian item for storing agricultural goods as well as a beautiful commodity for trading. Size: 6.01" Diameter x 7.125" H (15.3 cm x 18.1 cm)
