Description
A large marble frieze depicting the Goddess Nike, the personification of victory, holding aloft a laurel crown. The piece was once part of a larger structure which must have included other sculptures, as evidenced by the remnant of a carved foot at the lower left of the frieze.
Ancient Rome - ca. 1st-3rd century AD.
H: 27 1/4 in., (69.2 cm.)
Condition
Good overall with minor surface wear due to age. Nike is missing her left arm, and there is a remnant of a foot from another statue at her lower right.
