Item Details
Description
A beautiful glass beaker of the 18th century depicting the biblical story of Abraham and Isaac. The scene is depicted with early-modern clothing and architecture instead of ancient styles. The practice of showing ancient scenes using more contemporary material culture was common from the medieval era up until the 17th and 18th centuries. The scene has been engraved into the glass with incredible detail, showing even the grooves in the bark of the trees.
