Description
J. & J. W. Meeks "Hawkins" Rosewood Five Piece Parlor Suite, Circa 1850. This laminated Rosewood suite includes elaborately pierced carved sofa, armchair, and three side chairs. Center crest is carved with fruit and shell. Suite has serpentine carved backs with grape leaf and clusters pattern. (1) Sofa: 49 1/2" high X 66" wide X 39" deep. (1) Armchair: 47 1/2" high X 27 1/2" wide X 34 1/2" deep. (3) Side chairs: 42 1/2" high X 19" wide X 25" deep. From the personal collection of Steve Wirth, Port Angeles, Washington.
Condition
Condition - Overall good condition. Sofa has repairs to carved back rail. The armchair has an old repair to back rail and is missing a small piece of veneer on back. Some minor separation of lamination. Blue velvet upholstery has fading, discoloration, etc. See photos.
