SRC. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). S# 92704. Bbl. 17" w/ pinned blade front sight & leaf rear sight. Full length mag. Action has stepped front ring w/ saddle ring on left side. 8" trapper length walnut forearm. Straight grip replacement stock w/ carbine steel trapdoor buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: letter & records check from the Cody Firearms Museum detailing the following information, "Type: Carbine / Barrel Length: 17 inches / Received in warehouse on June 06, 1882 / Shipped from warehouse on June 20, 1882, Order number 32434". CONDITION: heavily cleaned metal is reacquiring a brown appearance. Forearm has dark worn appearance w/ large crack & gouge extending from action. Stock finish shows numerous scratches & dents. Dark pitted bore. (01-25120/DS). ANTIQUE. $2,500-4,000.
