Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Chupicuaro, ca. 500 to 100 BCE. A set of 3 hand-built and stone-burnished pottery bowls including a red bowl with parallel exterior stripes, a petite bowl with indented side rims and zigzagging linear motifs, and the largest with a red-orange cruciform symbol within the buffware basin surface. Size of largest: 8.05" W x 4.4" H (20.4 cm x 11.2 cm)

Provenance: private Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA collection; ex-private Fayetteville, Arkansas estate, USA, acquired 1960 to 2024

Largest bowl with 1 stabilized fissure stemming from rim as shown. Each bowl with light abrasions and pitting, minor fading to pigment, and scattered earthen deposits, otherwise in intact and very good. Great preservation of decorative motifs.
