Description
Native American, Midwestern United States, Plains Indians, Sioux, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A lengthy pipe with a twisting pipe stem carved from wood, a handle formed from dyed and braided horsehair, and a pipe body and mouthpiece carved from a red stone called catlinite (also known as pipestone). The body and mouthpiece are inlaid with metal foil to create an attractive, personalized presentation. Size: 19.375" L x 1.1" W x 2.125" H (49.2 cm x 2.8 cm x 5.4 cm)
