WORLD 1861-1900. A Group of 3 Cast Unique Medals
An extremely interesting WM-57 Unifaced medal captioned "Awarded by the Board of Trade for Gallantry in Saving Life" , a young Victoria by Benjamin Wyon in what appears to be copper, silver plated. The edge dedication states "Mr. Oliver Sarony accident to the SCARBOURGH life boat Nov. 2 1861. History shows that a dramatic rescue was performed on that date and a silver medal was commissioned. This appears to be a cast copy ????? using the same method as the 2 cast copies of 1900 Expo medal by Champlain. More research is required.
