Description

Early 20th century. 10” length. Carved wood in the form of a fish. The body skillfully carved with incised decoration including a fish silhouette on the back, in traditional earth pigments as found on bark paintings. The side with a small screw eye indicating it was used as a decoy and jiggled to imitate a live animal. One of the only two such figures we have seen.
