Item Details
Description
Weighs 3 grams at 90% silver purity. ISIL attempted to create a modern gold dinar by minting gold, silver, and copper coins, based on the coinage used by the Umayyad Caliphate in the seventh century. Despite a propaganda push for the currency, adoption appeared to have been minimal and its internal economy was effectively dollarized, even with regards to its own fines. This lot has a reserve.
