▲ Jacques L Grubben (Dutch, 1884-1964) A pair of Dutch Art Deco armchairs 1920s, each with an oak frame with black-lacquered detail and later upholstered in red velvet (56cm wide, 62cm deep, 91cm high, seat 52cm high) (2) Provenance: From a set that was part of the meeting room of an auction house in Venlo (1928), designed by architect J Grubben. Footnote: Grubben was inspired by 'De Stijl', but he was also influenced by both the Amsterdam School and the Hague School. Condition Report: The upholstery was done in the 1960s.
