German, circa 1919. Regimental compass cane from World War I with handle housing compass fully encased in solid brass, brass latch at base securing compass when not in use, brass stand and collar, folding arms at top for nautical use, ebonized hardwood shaft, and horn ferrule.

Handle and cane are stable. Compass appears operable. No apparent chips or cracks to compass. Shaft has some nicks and scuffs. Ferrule has moderate wear to the tip and sides. Overall exhibits wear commensurate with age and use.
