
A collection of vintage postcards and paper ephemera documenting early 20th-century life and scenery in the Pocono region of Pennsylvania. The sepia-toned photographic prints and halftones depict local landmarks, including Pocono Falls, The Bridge and Cascade, Pocono Creek, and rural scenes near Bartonsville and Tannersville, Pa. Locations specifically identified include POCONO FALLS, near Pocono Ck., Bartonsville, Pa., The BRIDGE AND CASCADE, BARTONSVILLE, PA., and POCONO VALLEY SCENE, Tannersville, Pa. Several cards are postally used, bearing 1-cent U.S. green stamps and cancellation dates between 1909 and 1910. Handwritten messages and addresses are present, including specific dates such as Rec'd Feb. 27th 1909 and Dated Feb 21st 1909 Clara Breen. The collection is currently housed in a plastic protective sleeve.
