British US Civil War era P1853 Socket Bayonet. Bayonet is in fair condition for age, Socket has some bluing remaining and blade has surface rust frosting but would probably clean up nicely. Blade has inspection and war department markings, serial number is lined thru which means it was sold out of British service, possibly for sale to one side or other of the Civil War. Bayonet includes scabbard in very rough shape, leather is falling apart, but metal spine and tip are still there. good starter collector item.
