WWI German Nahkampfmesser Fighting Knife

Description

WW1 German "Nahkampfmesser" Trench or Fighting Knife. These knives were commonly privately purchased, but also bought in large quantities by the German military. These knives also saw service through WWII and were a popular souvenir for American troops. This knife is in very good shape for its age, blade has surface rust and has been sharpened, wooden handle is in fantastic condition. Metal scabbard is also rusty but has lots of original black paint remaining. Leather retaining strap is complete but rough. Extremely hard to find item that saw hard use in two World Wars.
