ABOUT THE ARTIST: Kogan-Shatz Matviy Borisovich – was born on the 6th of November, 1911 in Mogilev-Podilsky city. Ukrainian Soviet painter. Worked in the genre of landscape painting. He studied at the Odesa Art Institute and Kyiv Art Institute. Mentors: Volokidin P., Fraerman T. and Shovkunenko A. Since 1939 he participated in national and exhibitions in Italy, France, Japan. Since 1947 – a member of the Union of Artists. The artist`s works are exhibited in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, Poltava, Mykolaiv, Berdyansk art museums, and Alupka Palace Museum.
