ABOUT THE ARTIST: Babentsov Vіktor Volodymyrovych – was born on 5th of February 1921 in Litvinivka village, Dnipropetrovsk region. He studied at the Kyiv Art Institute. Mentors: Kostetsky V., Trokhimenko K. Worked in the easel painting industry. Since 1951 he participated in Republican and All-Union exhibitions. Since 1956, Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. In 1977 he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR. In 2004, Viktor Volodymyrovych was awarded the title of National Artist of Ukraine. He was awarded with Red Star and medals. Main works: «Lesya Ukrainka» (1952, 1962), «Autumn Fishing Season» (1957), «Metro Builders» (1957), «In Science» (1961), «On the Construction of Dniprodzerzhinska HES» (1963), «T.G. Shevchenko in Kamyanets-Podilsk» (1964) and others. Works are presented in the National Art Museum, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and other museums of Ukraine and private collections abroad.
