ABOUT THE ARTIST: Chernikov Volodymir Mykhaylovich – was born on the 15th of January 1918 in the city of Lysychansk, Lugansk region. The husband of the well-known Ukrainian artist Vira Sogoyan. He studied at the Lugansk Art College and Kyiv Art Institute. Mentors: Sagaidachny E., Shovkunenko A., Trokhimenko K. Member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR. Since 1951 he has taken part in republican, all-Union, and international exhibitions. Since 1973 – Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR. The works are represented in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, Donetsk Regional Art Museum, in private collections in Ukraine and abroad. The artist died on 17th of March 17, 1992.
