This exquisite Early 20th Century Belgium Equinoctial Globe stands at 21 inches tall with a diameter of 12 inches, making it a striking addition to any office or study. Crafted around 1920, this globe features a scale of 1:40,000,000 by cartographer L. Windels, and is mounted on a beautifully patinated green and gilt painted cast iron tripod. The globe is constructed from iron and paper, showcasing a hand-crafted design with intricate details including 12 colored spindles and 2 polar caps on a sturdy steel axis. The equator is graduated in hours and degrees, and the globe displays historical ocean currents, telegraph lines, European colonies, voyages of discovery, and ethnic illustrations representing the five races inhabiting the earth.
