1960s Cohr Denmark Alta Mid-Century Modern Silver plate EPNS 9 3/4" Oval Serving Bowl.

Danish MCM silver plate (EPNS) oval handled serving bowl by Cohr Alta Denmark. Stamped on handle. Designed by Elnar Cohr.

Made in Denmark in the 1960s. This piece has a great Danish modern design.

The Cohr Company was founded in 1860 and began to produce silver-plated items in 1921. It survived through the German occupation in 1940/45. Elnar Cohr took over design and management in 1959. The company continued until it went into bankruptcy and closed in 1987.

This bowl will enhance a Danish Modern, Mid-Century Modern, or Industrial decor.

This piece is in very good preloved condition, consistent with its age and use. There is one spot where some of the plate seems to have rubbed off inside the bowl probably from frequent polishing. It is about the size of a dime.

The Bowl measures 9 3/4" Length x 6 7/8" Width x 2" Tall. It weighs 14.25 ounces or 404 grams.
