
Description
Found in small villages across the Himalayan mountain range in Nepal, this antique kitchen instrument was used as a churning rod holder while making ghee butter. This antique Nepalese taro was carved from native hardwood and has a hole on one end for the long rod or ghupa. The Nepalese would use this churning tool in every household but now are considered rare museum pieces. This antique artifact from Nepal has a beautiful wax finish with a thick shaped body with a decorative carved design and is mounted on a modern iron stand to display as table top art.
