British. 1891. Next to the Wally birds, the Martin Brothers' face jugs are among their most eccentric and unique pieces. This example is decorated with an incredible pair of smiling faces. Note the organic snail-like pour spout with heavy stamp patterning. Marked, "9-1891 RW Martin Bros London & Southall", on base.
