Fine Inuit Bone Snow Goggles

Description

Native American, Pacific Northwest, Alaska, Inuit Eskimos, ca. early 20th century CE. Carved from a piece of Caribou horn with two narrow slits to only allow a small amount of light to filter through. Traditionally used by people of the arctic to prevent from snow blindness. This particular pair of goggles includes custom incised details at the eye slits. Size 5" L x 2" W, weight 21
