Description: German M1915 Feldflasche canteen, representing a wartime variation of the earlier M1893 model. Due to aluminum shortages during World War I, early M1915 examples were produced in tinned steel; however, as the tin coating wore quickly and corrosion became an issue, production transitioned to enameled steel bodies. The overall form remained consistent with the M1893, while the stopper design evolved to a stamped steel cap in place of the earlier aluminum pull.

This example retains a brown corduroy cover, typical of period-issued canteens, along with leather attachment components. Such covers were produced in steingrau or feldgrau wool, brown corduroy, or ersatz papercloth, reflecting wartime material constraints. A well-preserved and authentic piece of Imperial German military field equipment from the First World War.
