LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 7914d. Bbl. 3 15/16". P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser during WWII. Top of the bbl. extension is marked with the 4-digit year of mfg "1940", with Mauser Eagle/655" proofs marked on the right. Toggle is marked with Mauser's "42" mfg. code. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, bbl., bbl. extension, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, as well as the rear toggle pin. Grips are unnumbered, but marked with Mauser Eagle/655 proofs. MAGS: 1 non-matching early production Krieghoff nickel plated 8-rd. mag. with aluminum plug stamped with an early pattern Eagle/2 above "6589". CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal salt blue finish, exhibiting some spots/areas of light to mild wear (primarily on edges) as well as some minor superficial handling marks overall. Grip straps exhibit large areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina. Near mirror bore, exhibiting some light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show mild smoothing, as well as a few superficial marks and impressions, but otherwise remain sound. (25-6560/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
