COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 45 LC. S# 113251. Bbl. 5 3/4". Single Action Army revolver mfg. by Colt in 1884. Top of the bbl. is marked with Colt's single line address. Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's 3-line patent information, with "45 CAL" marked on the left side of the forward trigger guard web. Cyl. is unnumbered, exhibiting a U.S. "D.F.C." (David F. Clark) inspector proof. Metal components exhibit a nickel plated finish. Frame is mounted with a 1-piece plain wood grip. Standard SAA pattern blade front sight and frame notched rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame, trigger guard, and rear grip strap. Trigger guard and rear grip strap S# is stamped above a "G" proof. CONDITION: metal components retain fair amounts of their original factory nickel plated finish, exhibiting flaking overall that shows through to a dark patina and consistent light to mild pitting overall. Bore is relatively bright, exhibiting scattered spots and patches of light to moderate pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics with tight lock up. Grip shows heavy wear, as well as scattered superficial marks and impressions, but otherwise remains sound. (01-28194/MLW). ANTIQUE. $1,200-1,800.
