MADE FROM FILE. 15.5" overall, 11" double edged blade .30" thick ricasso, carved turned bone handle, 3" forged cross guard with turned down quillons, lead around peened tang. Pictured on page 147 of James Johnston's "ACCOUTREMENTS II". Interesting early American knife that maker signed "JH" on ricasso. CONDITION: very good overall, "as found", blade well worn, rounded point, still sharp with nicks in cutting edge, large age crack through handle. PROVENANCE: James R. Johnston collection.
