Pictured on page 194 of James R Johnson's "ACCOUTREMENTS IV", knife measuring 15" overall, 10.5" double edge blade, made from a file, 3.5" forged iron "S" cross guard, carved split stag slab grip attached with copper rivets, original leather covered wood sheath with sewn belt loop. CONDITION: very good overall, blade retains some original polish, staining & pitting, leather covering to wood body sheath has shrunk, unsewn, dry, and cracking at edges, belt loop still intact. PROVENANCE: James R. Johnston collection. (02-26016/JS). NON-GUN. $1,200-1,500.
