1920 DANISH SAILING SHIP PORTRAIT

Description

Five-Mast Ship "Kobenhavn", launched 1920, oil on canvas, marked with the ship's name in Danish and English, otherwise unmarked, in gold cove frame.Launched in 1920, built in Leith, the 465 foot ship was used for training and cargo. She disappeared without a trace in the South Atlantic eight years later.

OS: 20 x 28 in. (50.8 x 71.1 cm.), SS: 17 x 25 in. (43.2 x 63.5 cm.)
