Description

A finely worked alphabet and verse sampler stitched in silk on linen, signed “Ann Tappan born July 9, 1786, aged 9 years 1795.” Featuring floral motifs and decorative borders. Presented in a giltwood frame with museum glass and conserved using acid-free materials, as noted on the verso.

OS: 14 1/4 x 14 3/4 in. (36.2 x 37.5 cm.), SS: 11 1/4 x 11 in. (28.6 x 27.9 cm.)
