Hetian Jade Foreigner Figure, 6.5cm in height, 5cm in length, 1cm in width and 48g in weight. Produced by a foreigner workshop in the West Market of Chang'an in the Tang Dynasty, it was an ornament worn by the aristocracy. Suet white jade for the main body of the foreigner figure, the outer frame is pure gold hollow chiseling. The jade figure is carved with the image of a foreigner with deep eyes and a high nose using "round carving + openwork carving" techniques; the gold frame adopts the "hollow out + chiseling" process, decorated with interlocking branch patterns, the overall presentation of the Tang Dynasty aesthetic of "gold and jade filling the hall". Tang Dynasty (618-907). Gold inlaid jade of the Tang Dynasty is extremely rare in existence. This piece integrates the Central Plains jade carving and the Western Regions craftsmanship, being a physical witness of the cultural exchanges on the Silk Road in the Tang Dynasty, belonging to a national treasure-level cultural relic with a market valuation of over ten million yuan.
