This GORGEOUS silk and cotton 1890's trip around the world log cabin tied quilt is all hand pieced and hand quilted, with a velvet border with a line of hand embroidered hatch stitching around the perimeter.
It measures 54" X 56" and is in very good condition, with 6 light silk strips with premature fabric deterioration. The rest of the quilt feels strong and sturdy.
The back is a solid red cotton fabric, the hand stitched binding is solid brown, and the batting is thin. The pieces measure an unusually small 3/8" to 1/2" wide.
The WONDERFUL COLORS, GRAPHIC DESIGN, and SMALL PIECES make this late 19th century COLLECTOR'S QUILT stand out -- it would make a terrific wall hanging!
