This Murano Pheasant White with Gold Aventurine and Yellow on Tail is encased in clear glass with a clear base. Avventurina or (Aventurine in English) is one of the most popular Murano Glass techniques, distinguished by its special look of sparkling particles captured inside translucent glass. Today the ancient Avventurina technique is simplified and somewhat streamlined, which allows the artisans to use it frequently in jewelry, as well as art glass such as vases, sculptures, and various decorative items. It measures 11 7/8” x 8 ½” x 4” base. It does have a chip on the base (see photo). You would not notice it if you were not looking for it. This piece does have inclusions in the base and a smooth pontil.
